About

Who We Are
We’re the Hopkins family. Born and raised in Eastern Washington, Robbie and I (Katie) grew up together—sharing the same church, school, and community. We began dating at sixteen and got married shortly after graduating high school. In 2022, God blessed us with our son, Josheb, and in 2024, our daughter, Emma.

Early on, Robbie felt a calling to serve others in difficult and demanding environments. With a high sense of justice and strong protective instincts, he seemed made for roles like the Navy or border patrol. But even as he pursued those paths we continued to ask God, What do You have for us? How can we best serve You together as a family?

In the spring of 2025, we visited friends in Southeast Asia who work alongside the Free Burma Rangers, delivering medical aid and God’s love in crisis regions. During our short time with them we experienced an undeniable peace and confirmation that this was the direction God was calling us.

Though he didn’t come from a medical background, God began opening doors for Robbie to gain hands-on medical training. He has continued to equip us as we prepare to go—not just as individuals, but as a family—ready to bring the love, healing, and hope of Jesus Christ where fighting persists.

Statement of Faith

Mission Statement:
The Third Watch exists to bring hope and support to people in conflict areas through humanitarian aid. Inspired by the story of Nehemiah, we are committed to rebuilding what is broken—carrying a hammer in one hand and a sword in the other—as both restorers and protectors. We go into the center of crisis equipped with tools of love, truth, courage, and freedom.

Nehemiah 4:14–18

Values & Guiding Principles:

1.Sword & Hammer
We are called to both rebuild and protect. Inspired by Nehemiah, we work while standing watch—committed to repairing what is broken with courage in one hand and compassion in the other. (Nehemiah 4:14–18)

2.Ready & Willing
We live ready—clothed for service and with our lamps burning—prepared to go wherever God sends us, at any hour, into any crisis. (Luke 12:35–38; Isaiah 6:8)

3.Sacrificial Love
We believe the greatest love is shown through sacrifice. We are willing to lay down our comfort, possessions, and even our lives to serve nations with the heart of Christ. (John 15:13; Luke 18:22)

4.Family on Mission
God called us not as individuals, but as a family. We serve together, bringing our children with us, to live simply and follow Jesus with shared purpose and unity. (Isaiah 6:8; Luke 18:22)

5.No One Left Behind
We serve all people—regardless of ethnicity, faith, or status—with the unshakable belief that every person carries immeasurable worth and is deeply loved by God. (John 15:12–13)
